Aquarius New Moon
I am writing this post a few days after the Aquarius New Moon as Mercury is finally turning direct and I emerge from the silence. Aquarius has always been a difficult sign for me to understand and relate to, I study it carefully and with compassion. Quite possibly I have challenges connecting with Aquarius because my Virgo Stellium (Sun, Mercury, Saturn, North Node) is quincunx to this Air sign. A quincunx is an awkward aspect, where those signs feel like they just don’t have anything in common and are alien to each other. My one saving grace is my Gemini Rising, trine Aquarius in my 9th house. They sun currently transiting my 9th house as well as the new moon has lit a fire within me for dreams and a bigger picture of my future, but Saturn creating disciplined structure and all of these planets square to my Scorpio Stellium (Venus, Mars, Uranus) in the thick of my Uranus oppostion has me shoved back to reality quite often.
It is in the optimism of the 9th house that pushes me to set free and open my wings to fly, to take chances without watching the hard Earth below as I coast to the horizon. My feelings of breaking free these days are strong, are yours? Aquarius New Moon encourages a particular freedom or independence to be who you want to be and to not be restricted by all the rules - maybe some of these rules are self-imposed? Mine certainly are and they have come to light as Venus, Pluto, and Mercury in Capricorn all transit through my 8th house. Stirring up shadows, old patterns, learned habits, and the part of my psyche I would much rather not deal with. Any transit in the 8th house can leave us feeling emotionally hungover, however, if we do the work that is called of us, we will merge with the light. That is transformation.
We are celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Water Tiger and also Imbolc this week. Half way to Spring, connect with your inner fire and tend to the flames as it grows towards the light. Brief February line up:
February 3rd the last planet in retrograde, Mercury goes direct in Capricorn. We are finally moving forward with all planets direct. Let Capricorn provide the options of structural conversation.
February 16th is a Leo Full Moon PLUS Venus (love & relationships) meets up with Mars (action & energy) in Capricorn. Fun, fiesty, and dramatic, bring in some creativity to loosen up all that stuck energy and enjoy yourself!
February 18th the Sun moves into Pisces is deep and emotional, it rules over the imaginary, artistic endeavors, and Spirituality. An end to a cycle may be happening in your life, we feel more connected to the collective and want to tap into our intuition. How will you end the last month of Winter?
